While my next sewing project has seen little progress (I’ve been working on a knit t-shirt, but the stretchy fabric is killing me), my wife just published a new post on her blog about her adventures sewing, wiring, and programming space pants with Arduino-driven twinkling stars, i.e. LEDs.

The picture above shows the connector of the pants that the Arduino connects to. After the 3D Printer project, our house is well stocked with JST connectors. The connector has one ground wire (connecting to the two inside inseams of the legs) and six signals. Shannon designed it such that each signal drives two LEDs concurrently with a twinkle pattern using the Arduino’s PWM pins. You can find more details on her blog, www.statham.space.
